Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD)
The lymphatic system helps to maintain lymph fluid levels as well as functioning as a line of defense against infection. MLD is a light massage which aids in moving the lymphatic fluid through the lymphatic system at an increased pace, helping with the healing process after plastic surgery as well as being beneficial with issues related to burns/scars, post-mastectomy, pre-surgery preparation, varicose veins and sprains/strains, rheumatoid arthritis, sinusitis, tinnitus, tension headaches and chronic pain.
*PLEASE NOTE: Some surgical indications for MLD have a waiting period after surgery and may need doctor’s approval. This is a massage, it does not expel any fluid from open wounds or the body in any way. If you have recently had surgery, you should have a doctor’s recommendation and have no open wounds.

Oncology
This massage is the modification of traditional massage therapy techniques in order to safely work with side effects of cancer and cancer treatments. Essential aspects of an oncology massage therapist’s skill set are an informed understanding of the disease itself and the many ways it can affect the human body; the side effects of cancer treatments, such as medications, surgery, chemotherapy and radiation; and the ability to modify massage techniques in order to adapt for these side effects, as well as for the disease.

Cupping
This service is an application of silicone suction cups to the body in areas that may be holding deep tension such as joints or deeply layered muscles. Cups may be left to rest in an area up to 3 minutes or gently glided over the skin to help release Connective tissue. The suction brings blood, lymph, and alignment of the muscle fibers in a very direct and effective way. Please note that this massage may leave red, purple, blue, or black marks on the body where the cups have been resting. These marks are called ecchymosis or petechiae and can occur because of the escape of blood into the tissue from minor bleeding from ruptured capillaries caused by vasodilation and increased blood flow. Marks will fade within several days to two weeks and are not harmful in a healthy adult
